Landing page design that turns ad clicks into booked jobs
Horton Taylor builds landing pages for New Zealand service businesses, with the copy, the form and the conversion tracking included. Each page mirrors the ad that sent people there, so the click converts instead of bouncing. Mitch builds it and wires up the tracking himself. Book a free 15-minute call and you get a straight number.
Most ad budgets leak on the page, not in the ad account. We build one page per offer that repeats exactly what the ad promised, loads in under two seconds on a phone, and asks for the job in the first screen.
You’re paying for clicks that land on your home page and go nowhere
The ad promises one thing and the page talks about five, so people leave
Your cost per lead keeps climbing and nobody can tell you which page is to blame
There is no form above the fold, no tappable phone number and no tracking
Message match: why the page has to say what the ad said
Message match means the first thing someone reads on the page is the thing they just clicked. If your ad says "roof moss treatment in Papamoa, fixed price, free quote", the page headline says roof moss treatment in Papamoa, shows a fixed price, and asks for the quote.
Most ad budgets leak here rather than in the ad account. Google notices too: landing page experience feeds into Ad Rank, so a matched page costs less per click for the same position. We build the page and the campaign together, which is how Google Ads in Tauranga gets cheaper.
One offer per page, so the ad, the headline and the form all agree
The suburb or service area named in plain words, because that is what people searched
The form and a tappable phone number visible without scrolling on a phone
Everything that does not help someone enquire taken off the page
What actually goes on a landing page that converts
A landing page is not a shorter website. It is one page with one job, and every block on it either builds confidence or asks for the enquiry. The order matters more than the design: headline, what you do and where, proof, the offer, then the form.
The proof is your own material. Real before-and-after photos off your phone beat stock imagery, and a screenshot of a genuine Google review does more than a designed testimonial block. The page is built static, so it renders in under two seconds on mobile data instead of six.
Headline and subhead written to match the ad and the search term
Reviews, star ratings and real job photos above the fold, not in a gallery page
A short form that asks for the minimum you need to quote the job
Guarantees, pricing guidance and FAQs to kill the objections before the call
Thank-you page that fires a conversion so the lead is counted properly
Built to pair with your Google and Facebook ads
Landing pages and paid ads are one job, not two. The page usually gets built in the same fortnight as the campaign, because the ad copy and the page copy come from the same set of words. For search that means a page per service, sometimes a page per suburb.
Facebook and Instagram ads in Tauranga work differently. Meta traffic is colder, so the page carries more proof and a softer ask, and on a small budget a lead form inside Facebook can beat a landing page. If that is true for your offer we will say so.

Landing page, or the whole website?
Start with a landing page if the problem is paid traffic: one page, one offer, tracking on it, live in about a week, and much cheaper than a full build. Start with web design in Tauranga if you have nothing decent to send anyone, paid or organic.
A single landing page cannot rank for six services across five suburbs, so plenty of businesses do both in that order and the page gets folded into the site later. How much a website costs in NZ has the going rates, and website design and optimisation covers the full builds.
Mitch runs every account personally from Mount Maunganui.
Looking for a landing page designer in Tauranga you can actually get hold of?
You deal with Mitch. He writes the copy, builds the page, wires up the tracking and handles the changes afterwards. He is based in Mount Maunganui, has 10 plus years in this work and has run service businesses himself, so the conversation starts at what a job is worth to you.
Most of the proof is in cleaning and property care. Reflections Window Cleaning, Clean Windows NZ, Duke Property Services, SWISH Property Services, Bonds Flooring and JunkBoss are all real clients and the numbers on this site are theirs. Trades get the same treatment, and so does the rest of New Zealand.
More booked jobs, less guesswork.

How you know whether the page is working
Tracking goes on before the page goes live, not after someone asks why the leads are not showing up. Every form submission and phone tap is counted in Google Ads, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, so the numbers in the ad account are real rather than estimates.
A decent landing page on well targeted local traffic turns 5% to 15% of visitors into enquiries. If yours sits below that we can usually see which block is losing people. Moving the form up or adding a price range often beats doubling the ad budget.

How it works
Our website design process
01
Free 15-minute call
We work out the one offer the page should carry, what a job is worth to you, and how many enquiries the page needs to produce to pay for itself. No pitch deck.
02
Copy and structure
We write the page around the words your ads and your customers already use, and pull the reviews and job photos that do the selling. You approve the copy before anything gets built.
03
Build, track and launch
The page gets built as a fast static page, the form and conversion tracking get wired up and tested on real phones, then it goes live. Usually about a week from approved copy.
04
Measure and improve
Once clicks are landing we can see the conversion rate and cost per enquiry. From there we improve the blocks that are losing people, and test a second version once traffic justifies it.
Where we work
Areas we serve
Mitch is based in Mount Maunganui, so Tauranga is the home patch and most of these pages get built for businesses within 20 minutes of the office. Landing pages work just as well remotely, so we build them for service businesses anywhere in New Zealand.
The team had deep expertise in rideshare tax but no real marketing infrastructure. Revenue was happening, but with no visibility into lead sources, no conversion tracking, and no structured way to scale acquisition.
What we did
Set up end-to-end tracking and attribution via Google Tag Manager so every decision could be data-led.
Rebuilt the Google and Meta campaigns around high-intent targeting and conversion objectives.
Created a niche lead magnet (Tax Guide for Uber Drivers) to capture and qualify prospects.
What happened
250 Facebook lead-form leads at an $11 average cost
200+ website leads at a $12 average cost
900+ tax-guide downloads at $1.50 each
~20% lead-to-client conversion rate
"Mitch gave us real clarity on what to focus on and what to fix. The Tax Guide and Facebook ads strategy especially made a huge difference. It's given us the confidence to grow properly."

Questions we get about website design in Tauranga
How much does a landing page cost in NZ?
Far less than a full website, and what moves the number is how many offers need their own page, how much copywriting is involved, and whether the tracking has to be built from scratch. A page here includes the copy, the mobile layout, the form, the thank-you page and conversion tracking in accounts you own. At the very cheap end of the market you are getting a template with your logo on it and no tracking, which means you cannot tell whether it works, and that is the one thing a landing page has to do. Book a free 15-minute call and you get a straight number for your page. A full multi-page website is a different job, and how much does a website cost in NZ covers the going market rates for that.
What is message match and does it really matter?
Message match is when the page repeats the promise from the ad, in the same words. It matters twice over. People who see what they clicked on stay and enquire, and Google factors landing page experience into Ad Rank, so a matched page usually costs you less per click for the same position. It is the cheapest lever in a paid account, which is why we build the page and the campaign together on our Google Ads Tauranga work.
Do I need a landing page if I already have a website?
If you are running ads, usually yes. Your home page has to serve every visitor, so it explains eight services and asks for nothing in particular. An ad click needs one offer and one form. A dedicated page normally converts two to three times better than the home page for the same traffic. If the whole site is dated or slow, fix that instead and start with web design in Tauranga, because a good landing page bolted to a bad site only fixes half the problem.
How long does it take to build a landing page?
About a week from approved copy for a single page, sometimes less if the ads are already running and losing money. The part that slows it down is nearly always waiting on your job photos and reviews rather than the build, so the sooner you send those the sooner it is live. Full websites take three to four weeks by comparison.
Can you run the ads as well, or just build the page?
Both. Most people come for one and end up with both, because the page and the campaign work better when the same person writes them. On the ad spend side we recommend starting at $900 to $1,500 a month for Google Ads, or from $500 a month for Facebook and Instagram ads, paid straight to Google or Meta on your own account. Management sits on top of that and you get the number on a free 15-minute call. If you already have an agency running the ads we will happily just build the page and hand over the tracking details.
Will a landing page rank on Google?
Not really, and that is not what it is for. A landing page is built to convert paid traffic, so it is deliberately narrow, with one offer and no internal links pulling people away. Ranking in the free results needs a page per service and per suburb, proper heading structure and internal linking, which is the website design and optimisation job. Run the landing page for the ads now, build the searchable site when the budget allows.
Can you build the page on my existing WordPress or Squarespace site?
Yes, if that keeps things simple for you. We can build it inside your existing site so the URL sits under your own domain, or as a standalone fast page pointed at a subdomain when the current platform is too slow to give the ads a fair go. Either way the page, the copy and the tracking are in accounts you own, so if you ever work with someone else you keep the lot.
Do you work with businesses outside Tauranga?
Yes. Mitch is in Mount Maunganui and works with cleaning, property care and trade businesses across the Bay of Plenty and the rest of New Zealand. Landing pages are one of the easiest things to do remotely, because the work is copy, structure and tracking rather than site visits. Same process and the same quote wherever you are, just over calls instead of coffees.
